Travelling Worm

A bookworm's travelogue

This is the blog of Mark Wordsworm, the travelling worm. I’m a 25-year-old bookmark and can proudly boast my own Hallmark serial number, 95 HBM 80-1. You’ll probably want to read all about me and my Travelling Companion (the TC) .

In my previous post, aptly titled Adventures in Queenstown, New Zealand, I promised to publish a video of us driving down Skipper’s Canyon, the world’s seventh most dangerous road. Eat your heart out, Jeremy Clarkson! Here it is:

The speed limit on that road is 100 km per hour. We did it at an average of 20 km per hour, and that felt plenty fast enough. We were in a Land Rover Defender. Our guide assured us that ordinary two-wheel drive cars could manage the road too. Hah, says this worm.

That’s all for today dudes.

Truly a terrifying experience. When I went, the driver of my bus was yaking on the phone, and it was raining. Also, all the people on the bus tended to sit on the right side to stare down the cliff which made me very paranoid about the unbalanced weight distribution.

    Good times.

    Hallo david

Oh dear, it does sound as if you had a quite terrifying experience. Our guide was calm and unflappable throughout, which nicely complemented the TC’s rather more mercurial approach to life.

Yes, good times. Recommended for anyone who’s not had enough adventure in their life recently.

    Thank you for dropping by!
Yours with a still racing heart
    Mark Wordsworm
